DIFFUSA - National level symposium conducted by the department. Paper presentations, poster presentations, guest lectures, workshops and events form an integral part of the Symposium. The symposium mainly aims at nourishing budding Chemical engineers with knowledge of core concepts and providing an opportunity to showcase their talents.
HYDROKINE - Water expo conducted by the department of chemical engineering observing the importance of “WORLD WATER DAY” every year on march 22.
ENGINEERS DAY - A good number of students from the department contributed to the engineer’s day celebration held by the college by presenting their projects and models.

NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY
Department of Chemical Engineering and the Institute Innovation Council jointly organized NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY on 02.12. 2024. The guest speaker was Mr. K. Swaminathan, Head - Sustainability and Environment, Cholamandalam MS Risk Service Ltd, Chennai has presented the pollution control measures on the occasion. Posters were presented by the 1st yr chemical engineering students on the theme “Abatement of Pollution”.
Chem Skill Development Program
In order to develop industry-oriented skills and equip our chemical engineering students with unique methodologies utilized in industry, the department of chemical engineering provides a 5-week industry-oriented knowledge building program in collaboration with Chem skill development centre. Through industry-oriented programs, students gain insights into industry standards and best practices, enhancing their competitiveness. By nurturing skills and global perspectives, CSDC aims to develop students into world-class engineers equipped for the global stage. It provides a platform to learn variety of topics such as Chemical Process Design, Unit Operations, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Safety Management and Measures, Environmental Regulations and Compliance, Quality Control and Root Cause Analysis. Participants benefit from theoretical classes as well as 14-day In-Plant training in a Chemical Industry, providing invaluable hands-on experience and a competitive edge in the job market. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, our department and CSDC continues to shape generation of competent and socially responsible engineers poised to make a meaningful impact on the world stage.
Hydrokine 2K24 – World Water Day
The department of Chemical Engineering in association with the IIChE-REC Student Chapter organized a one-day awareness program on World Water Day 20th March 2024. Water conservation banners were strategically placed in various parts of campus. The students from various departments displayed a Working Model on Water filters, competed in Quiz, and presented posters on water crisis and related problem statements. The winners of the Water filter design got to showcase their working models on water purification and conservation.
