• Shree Lekha D, from fourth year EEE, won first prize and a cash prize of One Lakh Rupee, in Smart India Hackathon 2019 competition, held at REVA University, Bangalore, on 13-Jul-19
• D. Vimal Raj and R. Suriya Narayanan secured First Place in IPC, at REC for their project on “ WATER MOTOR CONTROLLER SYSTEM”
• Srinidhi L., Selvaganesh M., Neha Ravikumar, Kaviarasi R., Dhinesh K. and Raja Bagatheeswara secured second place in IPC at REC for their project on “ TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROL”
• S. Purandhar secured Gold in Anna University Zone-2 Athletic Meet, Decathlon and Bronze in Anna University Athletic Meet, 4x100 mts Relay, October,2018.
• Jeevitha A. secured Bronze in Annauniversity Zone-2 Athletic Meet High Jump held at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, October 2018.
• S. Dinesh Kumar, P.S. GuruPrasath, Bhupathy K.S, were Runners Up in Jet Potential-2K18 CircuitTricks, Held at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, September 2018.
• Purandhar S. and S.N. Maniraaj secured 1st place in Tech Quiz held at SSNCE, September 2018.
• P. Balaguru and his team were the Runners Up in Anna University Zone-2 Ball Badminton (Men) Tournament, held at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, September 2018.
• N Selvakumar and M.S. Tamizharasan secured third place in Anna University Zone-2 Tournament, Kho Kho (Men), September 2018
• V.Roshini was the Runner up in Anna University Zone-2 Chess Tournament (Women) held at Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, September 2018.
• B. Sri Jaya Krishna, M Sai Praveen and S. Natarajan were the Runners Up in Anna University Zone-2 Handball Tournament (Men), September 2018.
• S. Purandhar secured Gold in Nantional Level Rural Games - 2018, Athletic(Men) Long Jump, at Rural Game Federation in September 2018.
• Saran B, Karthik B of 2nd year EEE, secured third place in “Innovative Project Cell” for thier project on Smart Classroom (Dust Free Chalk Board Eraser And Visualizer) on 07.03.2018.
• Kargil of III year EEE B won the title in “State level Football tournament” held at Alpha arts and science college on 01.03.2018
• Chandira Prabu J, Dhinesh Kumar P, Sandhiya K, Priya R, Vijay V S, Devaganesh S, Yuvaraj A N, Rakesh Adithya S, Ramana Kamessh M, Sushmitha M, Shanmuga Priya R, Aishwarya S, Natchiyappan M, Saravanan S, Jayasurya Raman P, Eashwar S from II and III year EEE qualified for the “national level quadcopter championship” at IIT Roorkee.
• Project Display at PALS 2017-18 initiative Dinesh Kumar of III year EEE and K.Arunagiri of Final year EEE participated in the finals of 'innoWAH' , the event was part of the Pan IIT Alumni Leadership Series (PALS), an education initiative, supported by the IIT Alumni Center, Chennai, as well as the IIT Madras Alumni Charitable Trust. They demonstrated their project on “Electric energy generation from waste wind of High rating air conditioners' ' guided by Prof. Dr.A.Selvaraj and received a cash prize of Rs 5000.
• Mr. Bhararth Adinarayanan won the distinguished alumnus award for the industry category at Alumni reunion in Feb, 2018.
• Rakesh KS, Raja Bhagawatheeswara S secured Third Place for IQUEST-2018, held at REC.
• Saran B,Karthik B secured Second Place for IQUEST-2018, held at REC.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENT

• Funding of Rs. 8,00,000 received from AICTE –Research Promotion Scheme for the Project titled, “Renewable Energy integrated movable charging unit for Electrical Vehicles with smart grid management Concepts”, for a period of 3 years from 2020 – 2022.
• Dr. K. Premkumar, was featured in the list of top 200 faculty mentors of the Confederation of Elite Academicians of India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019.
• Dr. P. Siva Kumar was declared as an IEEE senior member, by IEEE, October 2019.
• Dr.K.premkumar and Dr.T.Tamizhselvan appointed in “International Scientific Committee” by “Eighth European Conference on Renewable Energy Systems (ECRES2020) in Istanbul / Turkey”, on November 2019.
• Dr.P.Sivakumar, appilied patent for “MULTISOURCE UPS / STABILIZER FOR INDUSTRIAL, COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL USERS”, in November 2019.
• Dr.P.Sivakumar, was appointed as “Board of study member for curriculum & syllabus formation” by “SRM Valliammai Engineering College”, July 2019.
• Dr. A Nazar Ali and Dr. K.Premkumar was awarded Senior IEEE Membership, December 2018.
• Dr. A. Nazar Ali was awarded the Best Young Scientist Award, August 2019.
• Dr. Sivakumar P. received Rs. 15000 from TRANSPOWER Company, to develop a biased transformer for Hybrid Heating application, June 2018.
• The Second International Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Systems was conducted by the department of EEE, April, 2018.
• Dr.K.Premkumar, Asso. Prof. & Mr.S.B.Ron Carter, Asst. Prof, completed consultancy work on “Implementation of Job scheduling Problem” for Integrum enterprises, Chennai on 15.03.2018.
• Ms. A.Sangari, Asst. Prof.(SG), Ms.J.Anto sheeba, Asst. Prof., Ms. B.Lekshmi Sree, Asst. Prof., received a shield of Appreciation from Texas Instruments, in recognition of their active participation in Texas Instruments University Program Activities on 19.02.2018
• Dr. K. Premkumar, Asso. Prof., Dr. P. Sivakumar, Asso. Prof., & Mr. S. B. Ron Carter, Asst. Prof. completed consultancy work on “MATLAB/SIMULINK with Real time applications” for Navodaya Institute of Technology, Raichur on 16.02.2018 and received Rs 20,000/ by conducting a student training program titled, “Arduino and Power Module”.
• Ms. R. Sree Mallika successfully completed the NPTEL Course titled, “Laser Fundamentals and Applications” and received Elite + Gold medal on 23.11.2017.
• Revenue generated by conducting FDP titled, “Renewable Power Generation and Recent Embedded Controllers”-28,000/-
• Funding received from AICTE for the Project titled, “Modernization & Removal of Obsolescence” by Dr. K. Premkumar - Rs 10,50,000/- and a research laboratory named ‘Real time Adaptive Control Engineering Laboratory was successfully established.
• Dr. C.Kamalakannan has been one of the members of the Board of Studies for UG (EEE) at Anna University.
• Dr. R. Kalaivani has been one of the members of the Board of Studies for PG (Power System Engineering) in Anna University.
• Dr.R.Kalaivani has been one of the Interview Panel member for the Post of Management Trainee Electrical Engineering in Food Corporation of India held at Food Corporation of India, Zonal Office (South), 3, Chennai on 5.10.16
• Under Industrial Liaison Activity an MOU was signed with TRIMAK Company, in the month of September, 2016 and the faculty Coordinators were Mrs.A.Sangari & Mrs.J.Anto Sheeba.
• Under Industrial Liaison Activity an MOU was signed with Technocrat in the month of September,2016 and the faculty Coordinators were Mrs.B.Lakshmisree & Ms.R.Sree mallika 
• Revenue generated through a workshop on Power Electronics Control Circuits using Microcontroller - Rs. 21,800/-
• Dr. C. Kamalakannan, Professor, EEE, went to Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bengaluru between 16 to 19 august, 2016, for testing a Panel as per standard IP55 (Protection and Enclosure Test), which leads to consultancy work.
