Pongal பண்டிகை

We, the members of Yi Yuva REC, in collaboration with Alpha Engineering College and SKPC Arts and Science College, took on an initiative presented to us by Yi Chennai Chapter. We celebrated Pongal with over 70 children with disabilities at Vidya Sagar in Kotturpuram on January 18, 2024. We had organized various fun and engaging activities for all the kids in the auditorium. We started with a small icebreaker dance session, gave colorful balls and interacted with the kids. Our members spoke to them about Pongal and its traditions. Then we distributed Pongal coloring sheets and colors among the kids. They had a wonderful time experimenting with each color on their Pongal pot, and the room was filled with laughter. Finally, we gave out mandatory Pongal sweets and food to all the kids and their guardians. The event was a great success and left us with a lot of happy memories. We are truly grateful to have been a part of it.
