Our students bagged University Gold Medals in 2020, 2019, 2015, 2013 and 2012. Our Students bagged consistent University Ranks in all batches.

Our alumni are working in renowned healthcare industries like GE Healthcare, Siemens, L&T Medical Systems, Hitachi, TrimedEX, Perfint Healthcare, HCL Healthcare Division, TCS Healthcare, Zifo Technologies, iGATE, Capgemini Pvt Ltd, Aries Biomed Technology etc.

Our alumni are pursuing higher studies and research in world’s top institutes like Imperial College London, Arizona State University, University of Illinois, University of Texas and University of Connecticut etc.

Department has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Faber Sindoori Management Services (FSMS) Private Limited, Chennai, a company of Apollo Hospitals Group, VHS Chennai, Aries Biomed Technology Private Limited, Coimbatore and GE healthcare in Biomedical Engineering for student’s internship, faculty training and collaborative research and consultancy by sharing the Knowledge and skills available in both organizations.

The Department has organized various funded programmes on latest research areas like Biosignal and Medical Image Processing, Embedded Systems, Rehabilitation Engineering, Nanotechnology, LabVIEW etc. The funding agencies supported are Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), AICTE, Tata Consultancy Services and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board.

Our Students participated in World University Debating Championship held in Berlin, Germany, 2013 and also had played a key role in Organizing World University Debating Championship in Chennai, 2014.

S. Sri Vidya Shakthi (2015 PG Batch) won Gandhiyan Young Technology Innovation Award 2016 for her Indigenous Oxygen Conservation Device using Patient Monitoring System.

Our students have obtained funding for their projects from organization like Computer Society of India (CSI), Texas instruments, Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology etc.

Our students' innovative projects won awards and prizes in National Level Innovative Competitions. Smart India Hackathon (SIH) organized by MHRD and AICTE received around 52,000 entries from 34,000 teams across the country, out of which 250 teams made it to the grand finale round. Team Stupendous Six of REC got selected and they presented their project "Continuous Non-invasive BP monitor and represented the college at BSDU, Rajasthan declared as winners and received a cash reward of Rs. One lakh. Members of the team are:

Mr. Jonath (2017 -2021batch) attended the workshop conducted by the Centre of Biomedical Engineering (CBME), IIT Ropar, Punjab. He was shortlisted one among many IIT and NIT B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D scholars from reputed universities to attend the workshop. The event took place form 7th – 9th March 2019. At the end of the workshop each team members presented their project work in front of the eminent Scientist and Doctors from AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh .and his team own the first prize of Rs. 30,000/- for their project title “Novice idea for evaluating the depth of Anesthesia in the body”.

Our faculty members have published research papers in high impact factor journals and International Conferences.

Industrial collaborations are in force for offering training to students on ventilators, sensors, devices and supporting services like testing and calibration of medical equipments.

Department is successfully following the outcome based education (OBE) prescribed by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
